Cause and Effect

Cause and Effect

With your table group, you will be watching a Direct TV commercial that has MANY examples of cause and effect.

Using the graphic organizer, fill in each separate cause and effect from your commercial.  We will share out in the next class.

When your group finishes watching the commercial and filling out the organizer, get a new organizer to fill out about cause and effect from Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key.

Monday, December 22nd

Agenda for December 22nd, 2014

Today, we are going to free-write to create a story.  You will use a picture, title, and sentence starter to get the ideas flowing.

*We will save about 10 minutes to share out the stories you have created.
**Make sure you save your work, and email me (Caitlin.Redfield@icsd.k12.ny.us) or print what you have, so I can look at it for today's participation (and because you all are great writers, and I need some extra reading for over break!)

Click on the following link to take you to all your picture options.  Choose one to begin with, and if you finish that story, choose another.  Use the title they give you to title your work, and so I know which picture you chose.

Instructions for Friday, December 19th

Today in class you are going to be reading a narrative nonfiction article.  You have the option to listen to the article as you read along, which is why we are in the computer lab.
Here are your instructions:

2.) Once you are there, click on the red button (on the right side) that says, "Student Sign In".

3.) Type in RWLab56 (exactly the way I have it).

4.) Scroll down to the "Narrative Nonfiction" section that is purple.

5.) Click on "listen" to have the story read as you read along in the magazine.  You must use headphones.

6.) Once you have read the article, take the "quiz".  This includes all the multiple choice and ONE of the constructed responses.  Choose either 7 or 8 and write it on the back of the paper.

7.) Hand it in when you finish, and then play "Grammar Ninja" (with headphones) or do homework.
